Thank you for the response, i ended up figuring out what the problem was, is was just me using an old driver (its the driver that runs the game the best so been using it for a while now) more specific i was running with the 304.79 beta driver (nvidia) and i've used bandicam on win 7 with that driver...

i recorded tons of video during gw2 beta and i had exactly same problem, my only solution was to convert it into 264/mp4 and then Premiere had no problem.

As topic says just getting black screen with a clean install of win 8(64bit). direct x says its up to date, and the target is direct x/opengl. i've tried different codecs and neither vlc player or win media player is showing anything but a black screen. edit: its recording sound and the cursor just ...
