Bandicam STUTTERING.... recordings are ruined

Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:27 am

So... on my old PC Bandicam was a tried and true program that I absolutely relied on.

Now, when I try to record, every now and again whatever I am recording suddenly loses sound for a second or 2, and the screen freezes for a second or two. Almost like a sudden gap in between what I am recording.

I have tried all sorts of workarounds... to no avail. That includes going into NVIDIA control panel and changing power management mode to "Maximum Performance"

Here are my current Bandicam options. Turning off microphone isn't an option, I need that for my recordings.

Using: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 360

File: AVI
Size: 1920x1080
FPS: 30
Codec: H264 (CPU)
Quality: 80

Audio
Codec: MP3
Bitrate: 192
Channels: Stereo
Frequency: 48000

What's going on here?

Nope, problem is recreated no matter what settings I use. Low settings also create the problem, I have sent a video showing it to your email address.

If I may pop in to ask a couple questions that might help:

- is this only while Loading the game, or actually playing it?
Sometimes when Loading, the game stutters or the recording will stutter, as while Loading, a game is dumping a huge amount of data into RAM and onto the drive of the system.

- is the game on a hard disk drive (platter drive, such as a 4TB drive) or an SSD (solid state [chips] drive, such as a 512GB drive)?
Installing a game on a larger/slower drive may potentially cause issues such as stuttering or lag or slow loading textures and areas in some games, whereas installing a drive on a [usually] smaller/faster SSD usually helps with issues like loading times, stuttering, etc.

- is this the only game giving you issues? or do all your games stutter like this?
Some games, especially newer ones, have issues such as not as much optimization, not-totally-compatible with recent drivers (of GPU, for example) and other small nuances. This might cause things like crashes and stuttering, at first. If ALL your games are doing this, then it suggests the problem is not that one game.

- is your RAM utilizing an XMP (profile)? or is the RAM at a Standard setting in the BIOS?
Usually, the faster (and more expensive) RAM in a system can be set to run slightly above normal specifications - but within manufactured specifications - by turning on an Extreme Memory Profile, if the RAM supports it. In modern systems, the BIOS of the mainboard/motherboard can usually detect if the RAM supports these faster settings, and can be enabled in your system's BIOS. You will have to look at your mainboard's manual, or look up online, how to change to this XMP setting. Here is a random link to a site talking about XMP (PC Gamer) :
https://www.pcgamer.com/what-are-xmp-pr ... -use-them/

- what game are you playing there?
Other people, if they own the game, can try see what can help, and/or if they have issues like you do.

Just a few ideas that may help in starting troubleshooting. GL with it
