Sound

Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:05 pm

First of all let me say that I'm using a usb soundcard (steelseries) and that I've read the 1 line response of " usb soundcards won't work "... I thought that was a bit minimal so I came here. I'm using windows vista home premium.

I want to record in game audio + my voice. I'm using a steelseries headset + usb soundcard from the same manufacturer. I've tried all the steps, nothing will work. I can either get my own voice OR the game sounds but not both at the same time. Any suggestions ?

Hello Julian,
Thank you for visiting Bandicam forum.

If you use USB sound card, technically you can't record sound.
In this case, you should use other sound cards.

See a solution below:

1. Windows XP user
1) Select the 'Open volume control' option in the system tray and run the 'Volume control' window
2) Select the 'Properties' from the 'Volume control' window.
3) Change the "Mixer device" from "USB Sound Card" to "AC97 Sound" at the top of the 'Properties'
4) If you can't find AC97 or other sound devices, you can't record sound.
...

2. Windows Vista/7 user
1) Open the 'Playback Devices' option by pushing the button the right side of the tray icon (Lower right side on the window).
2) Select the 'Property' option under the 'Speakers' option
3) Check the 'Use this device (enable)'.
4) If you can't find "Speakers", you can't record sound.
