Just wondering what settings you guys would reccomend for recording TF2.

You can increase "FPS" and "Video Quality".

ok so just to clarify, if when I record a video at 30fps and it comes out a bit framey. If I record it at say 50fps it shouldnt be as framey?

FPS means frames per second.
50 FPS has more frames than 30 FPS.
