Help with settings for making YouTube vids? Experts needed!

Mon Oct 13, 2014 9:02 am

I am trying to make some videos of FIFA 15 for YouTube. I would like some help to get the best quality with no lag from an expert on here. I will post my rig so you can have a look and advise me on what you would try out.

Windows 7 64 bit
16GB RAM
Radeon r9 290
I7 4770k OC'ed to 4.2ghz
monitor res is 2560x1440

Any help would be apprectiated.

I have messed with a few settings and I get some half decent videos but every 10-15 seconds there is slight lag while I am recording and playing my game. Thoughts?

Well if you aren't already you should use either the AMD APP acceleration or use intel quicksync. AMD APP is easier to set up.

Some tips on how you edit H.264 footage.

That will get you the best quality, file size and performance compromise of all codecs. Also remember to use the PCM audio codec to record.

I am using the AMD APP acceleration. I still get random lag while playing my game though?

Hello!

1. Uncheck "Use enhanced capture method (faster, only DirectX 9)", and try it again.
(Some people can't get a good FPS with this option.)

2. Try the "Motion JPEG" and "PCM" codec.

Or use intel quicksync instead and see if that changes anything. That's what I use. As that utilises a completely unused part of your system.

Hi,

I have not problems guiding you thru it, but firstly, more than your rigg I would like to know how do you plan to upload your videos to Youtube, straight as you get them with Bandicam or will you edit them before, and if so, with what program?

Sorry but to give you the proper answer I need to know the proper data for the equation.

For a start I can tell you that whilst you have a monitor x1440, I would like to know if your card supports it and if that is the case which is your planned video resolution to be uploaded to Youtube?

Youtube now accepts resolutions higher than x1080, but I dont think is still worth to produce videos in more resolution as only a very small percentage of customers watching them will have monitor with that ultra settings.

So... for me x1080 is still the goal for max resolution and quality.
