Bad Company 2 (Steam) FPS drop

Sat Aug 13, 2011 12:58 am

Hi Bandicam,

Just thought I would post about the major FPS drop when using the latest Bandicam (V 1.7.2) in Bad Company 2 (Steam). The drop is anywhere between 20 - 50 FPS which is something that Fraps would do. On the game I average between 80 - 100 FPS and when I record, it drops to around 40+ FPS which I assume is a flaw/bug in the code somewhere.

These are the settings I use to record:

1920x1080
70-80 FPS
Motion JPEG
100 Q

Stereo
48.0 Hz
PCM

The game runs through Steam which I suspect could be the problem here but Modern Warfare 2 and Bandicam run quiet nicely together. I will add that Bad Company 2 is Direct X 11, again could be an issue with Bandicams compatibility with Direct X 11 games, especially Bad Company 2.

Hi Psyoletic,

Dropping FPS is not a bug.

Bandicam has 2 FPS control menu.

1. FPS limit when capturing

If you set 60 FPS when recording, the maximum fps of your target (red-color) will be 60.

2. Video FPS

If you set 30 FPS, the maximum fps of your video file (*.avi) will be 30.

These are the settings I use to record:

1920x1080
70-80 FPS
Motion JPEG
100 Q
- If you set 70~80 FPS, the maximum fps of your video file (*.avi) will be "60"
(The maximum fps of Bandicam video is 60).
- Regularly, movie is 24 FPS, TV is 30 FPS, so we set a video fps limit upto 60.
I will add that Bad Company 2 is Direct X 11, again could be an issue with Bandicams compatibility with Direct X 11 games
Bandicam supports DirecX 11. Do you have a recording problem with Bad Company 2?

Best Regards,
Bandicam

That's my problem, my average FPS is anywhere between 120 - 80 FPS. I wish to record at 60 FPS but unfortunately Bandicam drops the FPS down to 40- FPS which is unplayable. I can confirm this with Fraps.

Fraps quite happily records at full resolution at 60 FPS with no FPS drop or lag. The only down side is the file splits. I'm sure it just a few tweaks in Banidcam will solve this problem. Until then I guess Fraps will have to do.
