Recorded video gets worse and worse fps

Fri Sep 27, 2013 3:54 am

I am able to record at an absolutely fine FPS in-game however when I go to play back the video that was recorded, I find out that the video is very laggy after about 5 minutes.
The start of the recording is absolutely fine but gradually the FPS of the recorded video gets worse and worse.

I noticed that someone had a similar problem to me here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1844

I am not using a Blue Yeti microphone however I am using my Logitech G930 headset and having the microphone to be recorded.

I've tried splitting videos into 4GB splits but this hasn't changed issue.
I've tried recording the video to my second hard drive too.

- Windows Version: Windows 8.1 (64bit) <-- I doubt that's the issue so best not to point that out ;)
- Graphic card model: ATI Radeon HD 7750
- Bandicam version: 1.9.0.397
- Bandicam mode: DirectX/OpenGL window
- Recording Target: Minecraft game
- Recording video: Motion JPEG (Full size, 30fps, 80q)
- Recording Audio: PCM (48KHz, stereo), recording microphone in separate track.

What is your Bandicam version?

We fixed the bug in Bandicam 1.8.5.

1. Download the latest version of Bandicam from http://www.bandicam.com/downloads/

2. If you still have the problem with the latest version of Bandicam, uncheck the "Record sound" option, and then let us know the test result.

I am using version 1.9.0.397.
The lag didn't occur when I recorded with "Record Sound" unticked.

Hi,

1. Please just use the microphone as shown below:

Do you still have the problem?

2. Please only check "Win8 Sound (WASAPI)" and check "Listen to this device" on Windows settings.

For more information about this settings, please see 2.2 Record your voice without "Two Sound Mixing" option (Windows Vista/7/8)

If you don't use the "Two Sound Mixing" option of Bandicam, you will not have the problem.

Ok, I tested the first option where I just recorded the microphone and that was fine. Didn't lag at all.

The second method you showed where I select WASAPI and select "Listen to this device" did lag. Same frame drops as before.

Will this be fixed in a future update? I'd quite like to be able to get game and skype audio as well as my microphone.

If we can reproduce the problem, we can fix it.
Did you choose "Disable" at the Secondary Sound Device?
Graphic card model: ATI Radeon HD 7750
We will release Bandicam 1.9.1 in a week. This new version supports the "H.264 (AMD APP)" encoder.
You may try this new codec option.

Will H.264 likely fix this problem and allow me to record with split tracks in a Sony Vegas compatible format though?

We're not sure that the H.264 codec can fix your FPS problem.
But, you will get a better FPS than before.

The new version will allow you to edit the recorded video with Sony Vegas.
To edit with Sony Vegas, install the next version of Bandicam and see the tutorial below:

I am having the same problems as OP. I went through each step of this thread and had the same results as well. Frames not dropped when just the mic is set as the primary recording device, frames dropped again when set back to WASAPI. Op, have you made any progress since your last post?
