Nvidia surround recording.

Fri Mar 30, 2012 9:45 am

Hi, I am new to bandicam and find the codec options much perferred to fraps. I want to register the software to get rid of the Bandicam.com logo on my recordings. I have been recording battlefield 3 at 5760x1080 with good results. However, to do anything with the video I always crop it in vegas. I effectifly make it single screen 1080p or 720p. I have tried changing the recording presents to 1080p but it crushes the image when it records. Seems to me there has to be a way to capture only what is on the center screen. Will record rectangle option work with a directx game? I am running an i7 with 8gb of ram, dedicated recording hd, and a geforce 680. Even with this it takes a bit of a performace hit in the form of 10-15fps. This is probably because the PC is encoding xvid in realtime at 5760x1080 which would be reduced if I only encoded part of the image.

Is this possible or is it possible to edit the presets at all? Thanks.

Hello!

To record a game, use 'DirectX/OpenGL window' mode.
This mode is quite better than the 'Rectangle on a screen' mode.

To edit with Sony Vegas, you should choose "PCM" audio codec.
- Sony Vegas: Motion JPEG video codec (Recommended) + PCM audio codec (Essential)

Yes yes, that isnt a problem I have no problems with xvid or mjpeg.

I am looking to just capture video from the center of the three monitors. That way I am not recording the entire 5760 lines and then throwing them away when I edit them by cropping the file.

I purchased the software last week and it seems to work well. However, you all still havnt answered my original question. You all posted a response without reading my question. When I replied with a "thats not the issue I was having" there has been no reply.

So is there a way to record directx in a specific size like just the center monitor out of three? Or do I have to record a huge file, crippling my system, and then crop it in premier or vegas? Please dont just see the words vegas and post the optimal codec for vegas. That was never my question.

I have no idea what part of this post made you think that I needed a visual guide on how to encode for editing in vegas...

The maximum resolution of MPEG-1 is "2560*1600" or so. You can't record 5760x1080 resolution with MPEG-1 codec of Bandicam.

Also, you can't record directx in a specific size in DirectX recording mode.
(As far as we know, there is no such recording software)

Doh, full screen surround really cripples my system.

Has this issue been addressed yet? I see that there is a match height option but I have not been able to try it bc bandicam stopped working with battlefield 3.

Does this option let you record only the center portion of the video and cut out the other two monitors that is on the side? Thanks.

We are afraid that we can't only record only the center portion of the video and cut out the other two monitors.
If you find such a directx recording program, please let us know.

I'm using Eyefinity and I'm also looking for this kind of feature. You wanted to know if there is a program that can do this, well there is. Dxtory can record only middle screen if you are using 3-monitor setup. It is done via crop and selecting resolution (for example 720p or 1080p).

I'd really like to have same kind of feature on Bandicam. And as i googled for answer to this, there are a lot of people out there looking for a software that can do this. So far it seems that only Dxtory is able to do that.

Do you think it would be possible to get this option also on Bandicam?
