FPS limiting

Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:12 am

Hi,

I love the tool! Finally something I can use to limit my framerate in all games. There are two problems I have which is stopping me from making a purchase:

- I would like to limit FPS in decimal values for example 29.9255
- There is some kind of bug whereby every 30 seconds orso there is some kind of small frame drops. It doesn't register as frame drops in the framerate counter but its definitely noticeable.

Hello furfoot,

Thank you for using Bandicam.

We will release the next version in April.
In that version, you can set the FPS numbers in decimal values at the "Format settings" menu under the "Video" tab.

However, you still can't set the decimal values in "Set FPS limit" menu under the "FPS" tab.
Because the setting of FPS limit in Windows is not 100% accurate.
It's a Windows DirectX problem. Even though we use 60 FPS limit function of Windows, it's not exactly 60 FPS.

Some kind of small frame drops are the same problem.

Sorry for your inconvenience.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I have tested this now with FRAPS and I can set the record FPS to 29.9255 which is half of my refresh rate so now with VSYNC on its super smooth all the time, but the problem is that I have to have record mode turned on all the time and this requires A LOT of HD space and resources.

I hope to see decimal values for FPS limiting for bandicam as that would be perfect for me (and many other users with the same problem), this will make me purchase it.

Hi furfoot,

I concur, I was have previously mentioned this but what I forgot to add was to allow users to input custom FPS in decimals.

I have the same problem with lags. I limited the FPS at 60, every 30 seconds i feel a frame rate drop, but the fps doesn't drop.

Hello Furfoot, Psyoletic, and Alexsama,

Is it game drop? or recorded video file drop?

If it is recorded file drop, could you send us your recorded video file?
We will check your files, and share the results with you.

Best Regards,

I don't record anything. I use Bandicam as a FPS limiter to get solid 60 fps in a old game which is outdated by video options. In game i feel the ''lag'';The frame drops after 30-40 seconds and back to smooth after 5-10 seconds, the FPS indicator is always at 60 green. It's a bug i think because when i'm in the ''frame rater drop period'' the fps is 60.

Could you try one more time?

1. Start Bandicam and Fraps
2. Start your game
3. See the FPS count of Fraps (Bandicam's FPS is green and Fraps' FPS is yellow)
4. If the yellow FPS count drops, it can be a bug of Bandicam.

Please, tell me your results.
Thank you

If the FPS count didn't drop both Bandicam and Fraps, it can't be a bug of Bandicam.
We tried to make the same situation like yours, but we couldn't.
I'm afraid we couldn't help you solve your problem.
