Do you want to get a higher FPS? FPS means frames per second. With a higher FPS, you can get a more natural video (smooth motion). Regularly, movies are 24 FPS and TV is 30 FPS. However, due to the rapid development of technology, people want to get a higher FPS such as 60 FPS, 120 FPS, and even 480 FPS. Bandicam allows users to capture their gameplay up to 480 FPS with DirectX/OpenGL/UWP/Vulkan hooking and hardware acceleration technologies.
FPS is closely related to the performance of a system. If the performance of the computer is inadequate, the computer may slow down and you may not get high enough FPS.
If you upgrade your graphics card, CPU, and RAM, you will get better FPS.
- Hardware factors for better FPS: GPU, CPU > RAM > SSD, HDD
If your graphics card driver is not installed properly, you will not be able to get a high FPS.
To increase the FPS, check your graphics card model and download the latest graphics card driver from your graphics card manufacturer's website.

If you reduce the resolution of the recording target, you will be able to get a higher FPS.
If you change the FPS (frames per second) value to 60/120/480, you will get a 60/120/480 FPS video if you have a modern computer which can handle this higher FPS. However, if the performance of the computer is inadequate, the computer may slow down or experience skipping issues. If you can't get 60/120/480 FPS, set the FPS to the default value (30).
Bandicam optimizes recording performance by using a hardware-accelerated H.264 encoder.
If your graphics card supports the hardware-acceleration, you will be able to get a higher FPS while recording.
Normally, you will get a higher FPS with H264 (NVIDIA NVENC) or H264 (AMD VCE/VCN) instead of H264 (Intel Quick Sync Video).
If you have a decent gaming laptop, you will be able to get good FPS while playing. However, you will not get high enough FPS while recording because the gaming laptop has to run and record the game simultaneously. Remember, a desktop is much more powerful than a laptop.
1) If you use the 'Game Recording Mode,' set the game to maximum performance at the NVIDIA Control Panel.
2) If you use the 'Screen Recording Mode' or 'Device Recording Mode,' set Bandicam to maximum performance.
(NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> Add 'the game or Bandicam' -> Select "Prefer maximum performance" in the Power management mode.)
If you put your graphics card into the secondary slot, try plugging your graphics card into the primary slot.
