x264 codec disappeared/not showing in list

Thu Aug 15, 2013 6:39 am

Hello.

Another problem with your program.

After my multipass problem I switched to singlepass in the x264 codec. but I was getting dropped frames even though my computer is more than powerful enough since it use to work perfectly fine before and now it doesn't.

I was changing some settings and I change the YUV from 4:2:0 to 4:2:2 and i got a Failed to Initialize Codec error and then the x264 disappeared from the codec list in bandicam. It's still on my computer and I've reinstalled it but it still will not show up in bandicam. I've also reinstalled bandicam.

What happened?

Hello!

If you can't see the "x264vfw-H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec' menu from Bandicam,

1. install both x264vfw and x264vfw64 codec from http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/files/,

2. manually start the x264 configure window, and then check the options like below:

3. And then, restart Bandicam.
You will see the x264 configure window again.

Sorry to revive an old post (from 2013 :D ) but this post has been VERY HELPFUL because I just encountered this problem.

Following the steps in this post helped me resolve the issue. I suggest this should be in the official FAQ.
