Specific window capture works in Windows 11 -- but not Win10

Thu Jan 18, 2024 1:32 pm

The "record a specific area of a window" works fine in Windows 11 but not Windows 10. On Windows 10 it always records the entire window.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?

Hello mistertheloaf,

Do you use Bandicam 7.0.0 or later version?
Please uninstall Bandicam and install the latest version and then try it again.

Thank you.

I already have the latest version of Bandicam. But, I uninstalled it, rebooted my computer, and then re-installed it. No change.

Windows 11 -- Everything works normally

Windows 10 -- Everything works normally EXCEPT for "Capture a specific are on a specific window". Bandicam captures the entire window, not just the one area that I selected, AND the video is squashed and distorted. Here are screenshots.

[1] Play a video and select the area that I want to record:

[2] When I play the recorded video, I get this:

It captured the entire window, not just the area I selected.

[3] If I switch to another program while recording and it covers the window that is being recorded, Bandicam is supposed to record the background window but it doesn't. The video looks like this:

Again, it captures the entire window, not just the area that I selected.
