If you use the [High-Speed mode] of Bandicut, you can cut parts of a video or join multiple videos quickly while maintaining the quality of the original video.

If you use the [Encoding mode] of Bandicut, you can use the hardware-accelerated AV1/HEVC/H.264 (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) encoders which allow you to cut, trim, split, join and convert videos at a higher speed than the H.264 (CPU) software-based encoder.

H.264 (CPU) is slower than the hardware-based encoder.

  • [High-Speed mode] mode is always faster than the hardware accelerated "AV1/HEVC/H264(NVIDIA/Intel/AMD)" encoder.
  • The hardware accelerated "AV1/HEVC/H264(NVIDIA/Intel/AMD)" encoder is always faster than the "H264(CPU)" encoder.
  • Normally, AV1/HEVC/H264(AMD VCE/VCN) is faster than AV1/HEVC/H264(Intel Quick Sync Video), but it is less stable.
  • The video quality of H264(NVIDIA/Intel/AMD) and H264(CPU) are the same.
  • All things considered, our recommendation is "High-Speed mode > HEVC/H264(NVIDIA NVENC) > AV1/HEVC/H264(Intel Quick Sync Video) > AV1/HEVC/H264(AMD VCE/VCN) > H.264(CPU)."

1. HEVC/H.264 (NVIDIA NVENC) encoder: High Speed + High Quality

Bandicut supports the hardware-accelerated HEVC/H.264 (NVIDIA® NVENC) encoder which allows you to cut, trim, split, join and convert videos at a higher speed than the software-based encoder. If you use Windows 7 or a later OS and GTX 600 or higher NVIDIA graphics cards, you can encode videos faster than the H.264 (CPU) encoder. See more»


2. AV1/HEVC/H.264 (Intel Quick Sync Video) encoder: High Speed + High Quality

If you have a system equipped with Windows 7 or a later OS and a new Intel CPU (i3/5/7), you can use the embedded hardware acceleration function to cut and convert videos "at a higher speed than H.264 Software Encoder." You need to enable the embedded graphic functionality of your CPU for the hardware acceleration. See more»


3. AV1/HEVC/H.264 (AMD VCE/VCN) encoder: High Speed + High Quality

Bandicut supports the hardware-accelerated AV1/HEVC/H.264 (AMD VCE/VCN) encoder which allows you to cut, trim, split, join and convert videos at a higher speed than the software-based encoder. If you use Windows Vista or a later OS and HD 7700 or higher AMD graphics cards, you can encode videos faster than the H.264 (CPU) encoder. See more»


4. H.264 (CPU) Software Encoder: Normal Speed + High Quality

If you have a system equipped with Windows XP or a later OS, you can use the "H.264 (CPU)" software encoder both in [High-Speed mode] and [Encoding mode]. With "H.264 (CPU)" software encoder, you can cut and convert videos to lower sizes and higher quality. The encoding speed is slower than the "H264(NVIDIA/Intel/AMD)" encoder.
